Friendship has been involved in educational, medical, economic developments, cultural exchange and evangelism all under the umbrella of foreign mission. We support international missions directly and indirectly along with our partner, Lott Carey Foreign Baptist Mission Convention of Washington, D.C.
An Update from Rovaughna Richardson: Journey with the Girls of Ghana
Genesis seeks to provide supplies, volunteer labor, funding and other support to aid victims in recovery from natural catastrophic events such as floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc. as well as an environment of poor economic and social conditions leading hunger and homelessness. Current initiatives involve, support for homeless children in CMS, Spirit of Christmas, Haiti housing development, world hunger support in Zimbabwe and support for victims of natural disasters in the US.
The Global Health Ministry provides medical care to our brothers and sisters around the world. We share the love of Christ Jesus as medical missionaries in the following countries: South Africa, Guyana, Jamaica and Haiti.
January 12, 2010 a devastating earthquake damaged the capital, Port-Au-Prince, Haiti and other southern areas. Friendship responded through our partnership with Lott Carey Foreign Mission Convention within 2 weeks after the disaster with food and medical supplies. We supported the funding for the Habitat effort to build 1,880 temporary shelters and 581 latrines in Cabaret, Haiti. Our culminated effort completed 150 home developments in Leogane, Haiti. Lott Carey continues to have mission activities each year in Haiti.
FMBC has agreed to support the Basic Training school in their efforts to become certified by the Jamaica Ministry of Education. The school is Pre-K and has approximately 40 students.
Friendship Missionary Baptist Church’s influence in the global community reaches far beyond a visit to a faraway land but our presence and emphasis are reflected in love, financial support, evangelism, free medical care, and endearing fellowship. We truly believe and exemplify our mission and ministry through our mission statement. Some programs and communities we support include: Children's Rights Ministry (Durban), Grace Community Church, Guyana Missionary Baptist Church, I.C.O.M., Madidi Baptist Church, Moiletswane, Thato Community of Excellence (Mabopone) .
Our mission began in January 2010 with Pastor Jones’ message from the pulpit – “Children are dying from Malaria in Zimbabwe at alarming rates. Friendship, we are about mission – and we have to help”.
Our ministry efforts in Zimbabwe include: Mosquito Nets, Tan-Roy Grinding Mill Operation, Martin Luther King, Jr. School. The partnership between Emmanuel Baptist Church (Zimbabwe) and Friendship Missionary Baptist Church has proven to be quite fruitful..
